In the scenic town of Ella, Sri Lanka, MeeKiri has reimagined a beloved local delicacy—curd—as a refreshing frozen treat. Typically made from buffalo milk and served at room temperature, curd had never been offered frozen—until now. MeeKiri Frozen Curd taps into traveller’s desire for authentic culinary experiences, whilst offering a fresh, innovative twist. Transforming a timeless favourite into a must-try experience.

Beyond the culinary experience, MeeKiri is a purpose-driven brand rooted in community-driven entrepreneurship. By partnering with local farmers and suppliers and reinvesting 40% of profits into community initiatives, MeeKiri supports local growth. Additionally, a buy-one-get-one-free system offers free servings to customer’s tuktuk drivers - key players in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

UXUS designed a brand that appeals to tourists and locals alike, celebrating Sri Lankan heritage with an energizing twist. MeeKiri’s visual identity is inspired by the traditional clay pot used for curd, transforming it into a distinct and ownable shape that defines MeeKiri’s playful logo. This clay pot motif features in a bold pattern that also draws inspiration from traditional Sri Lankan textiles. Woven throughout the experience—from façade cladding and interior wallpapers to branded clay pots—the visual identity fills the space with vibrant energy.

Following its success, MeeKiri plans to open a second location in another area popular with tourists, further spreading the joy of frozen curd and the impact of the purpose-driven concept. "MeeKiri is a project born from passion. We wanted to create something that not only showcases the flavors of Sri Lanka but also leaves a positive impact on the community," says Mario, co-founder of MeeKiri.

MeeKiri’s launch has created a space that celebrates local flavours and traditions whilst supporting the community, inviting each customer to be part of something bigger—driving meaningful impact for Sri Lankan communities.
